Yep yep. As a follow up of my post Wall Art, I finally got everything together and made it happen. I spent a good 45 minutes of grueling work, and managed to adhere this sucker on my wall (properly). Check out after the break for pictures :

As a sucker for spam mail, (google mail does a wonderful job in filtering this stuff out), I click on the link and it shows one of my photos selected as potential content in a local guide to San Jose. COOL. One of my photos may be used by professional organization. Just plain WOW. Maybe this is a calling for me to move more to photography. Maybe this is the sign to put $2,000 into my PayPal account to buy the camera that I want.

For those of you who can’t see the photo, they chose this one:

Wall Art

September 7, 2009

I’m thinking about putting up some designs in my new room. All the walls are flat which means I could basically paint anything or stick anything on it; that’s exciting because all of my life, I’ve lived in a house with textured walls.  Asides from the exact colors I’m getting, I’ve decided to get some stick on wall art. Sounds pretty childish doesn’t it? On the contrary, there’s a website called WhatIsBlik.com which is a branch of Threadless.com for home decors.  Cool? I’ve pretty much picked out this one for next to my desk:

Night Birds

Night Birds

I think it’s a simple and “cheap” design. I feel like it could be some crazy, odd inspiration for late nights in front of the desk or computer if I look at it.  Whenever I look at it, it’s always telling me to keep my mind in this “speed limit” but be ready to take off and fly away~

ANYWAYS

If you’re curious in how it’s done here it is:

And here it is from a man who has a little bit of free time at work:

Amazing I know! If you’re interested, you should check it out. If you have any more suggestions, I would like to get another piece or two to put up. I will definitely do an update once mine is up.

From My Last Post Till Now

September 5, 2009

Wooow I didn’t realize wordpress updated their look and feel. I like it somewhat better; a little bit more customization never hurt :D

So I’ve added some interesting widgets to the side bar if anyone cares, twitter and flickr.  I’m going to keep updating these more often now.

Updates:

  • I’m planning on purchasing a full frame DSLR. To be exact, the Sony Alpha 850 is the one I have my eye on. It will set me back a whooping $2,000, but that’s the price I’d pay for some fun and plus, I like making all of my friends look beautiful on film :) The opportunities would widen with a better camera. Maybe I could start a portfolio and make myself known~
  • No I won’t be attending the ISA concert in LA which is showing on 9/6/09 . I WANTED to go so badly, maybe even to visit the sister and a few friends, but no one else really wanted to go down with me so I will refrain until next time.  Hopefully they’ll come back up to SF and for sure I’ll be there for sure even if that means going by myself!
  • My blackberry FINALLY has internet. So I’ve loaded all of the cool apps on it such as: google maps, fbook, opera, and twitter.  So I can finally be cool and update my twitter a million times a day (not really) and upload mobile fail pictures on facebook. Hah. Oh yea, I guess it has GPS now so I won’t ever get lost (not that I really do in the first place) Anyone else have cool apps they want to suggest?
  • I’m due for a vacation soon. My workload keeps increasing; I seem to stay a little bit later at work every day that passes. I still want to visit LA/SD I wouldn’t mind New York. Or I could just go to the beach and do nothing? Suggestions?

So asides from all of the usual hikes, drinking, photography, rock climbing, soccer, random hangouts, and meeting A LOT of new people, I’m doing fine. I’m still staying up late (as you can see by the timestamp on this post) I’m still the internet addict I have been, just not been blogging as I should be.

Look out for my Labor Day weekend photos! It’s going to be epic I will say, a lot of driving and a lot of bbqs (hopefully)…

Flying Solo

August 9, 2009

So the last few months have been great. I’ve been going out a lot to basically everything; hikes, clubs, drinking, dancing, climbing, eating (everywhere and any time), etc. I’ve done a lot of exploring so far this year and I’ve figured out a lot.

I strongly stick by the motto:

I should at least try things once before I give an opinion about it. If I don’t like it, I won’t do it again, but at least I’ve have the memory and experience of giving it a shot before making an opinion on it.

I look back and I see how many things I’ve done that I wouldn’t have done before and it’s a long list (check picture documentation of certain events I’ve done this year).  I’ve met so many fantastic people who all bring something different to the table from all of these events and things I’ve been to. I have 4-5 different groups I’d see on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and everything would be different between all of the groups. Recently, some of these groups have been integrating with each other because of me (unintentionally) joining them together at certain mutual interests/activities/events we all share.

Mixing friends together scares me a lot. The last time I did that, I ended up losing some very good friends for asshole reasons.  I lost everything and I don’t want it to happen again. Unfortunately, I don’t have any control over anyone except myself.  And with that said and as stupid as this sounds, I only have control of myself to withdraw from everyone slowly…

Another thing I’ve been thinking about is how I feel a little tired and burnt out at this lifestyle I’ve been living– I want some change.  Maybe it’s just summer and there’s a lot more events and things to do now than in the winter time?  Either way, I feel the people I see are getting tired of seeing me as well. If I were to completely remove myself from everyone would I be missed? I say no. Would I miss them? Sure. Maybe a little, but I’ve grown to not be attached to people anymore. This quote basically sums up how I see it:

“If you want somebody you can trust, trust yourself”

You’re on your own, you always were,
In a land of wolves and thieves.
Don’t put your hope in ungodly men,
Or be a slave to what somebody else believes. – Bob Dylan

Sometimes I sense that there isn’t so much compatibility as there was before and that friends are just ones who take take and take more from me. Maybe it’s for the good that I see it this way. Maybe it’s a sign for me to move on. Maybe I need to start fresh and try again somewhere else.

Blurry Photos

July 28, 2009

Just another quirk that’s been on my mind.  What drives me up the wall is when I’m browsing someone’s photo album and I come across several to many blurry pictures.  For some reason, it drives me up the wall when I see these! I don’t know why… maybe I’m just spoiled from the f/1.4 aperature I can get…

Hygene Joke

July 21, 2009

So I know it’s one of my quirks to make a totally random joke about anything really.  I tend to comment on things that are slightly off topic and socially shunned upon.

So the joke that I’ve brought up is I would comment about my hygiene.  Say the conversation is going something on the lines of cleanliness, I would comment about how I haven’t showered in a week.  It’s slightly off topic for me to say that and not socially accepted to not shower for more than a day or two. Yet I say it because I hope that someone will pick up the dull sarcasm I put on; isn’t it obvious that I would shower often? Do I not look clean? I always smell like butterflies and flowers… err… man odors… grease and dirt…. *cough* If I actually do shower once a week, would there be any difference between our friendship? Would you think of me differently?

On the side note, I think people should lighten up a little and not take things I say too seriously.  I think there’s more than just American culture, more specifically many takes on how often one should shower.  I’m pretty sure the French do not shower very often and they seem to be doing just fine.

Also my question to whomever should feel like replying, what constitutes when you should shower? Should it be: routine , your body odor, sweat, you have oily hair, etc?

One day I hope that someone will actually understand, laugh, or make a witty remark about my humor; that person one day, I will marry. LOL. Just kidding. It’d be cool for more people to understand where I’m coming from.

Death of My Mouse

July 7, 2009

I would have video blogged about it, but I feel ugly outside and I haven’t written in a while.  I definitely can get out thoughts better in words than in 1 video; very hard to keep thoughts in a straight line while recording!

1. I need a new camera too; maybe something with higher resolution~

So on Saturday my Logitech G5 mouse died (it stopped tracking) although the buttons are still functional :( I still have it so if anyone can fix it, it’s theirs!  Now you may think isn’t this an ordinary mouse? I say nay.  I will argue that it’s one of the best out there for lesiure browsing and gaming alike.  I’ve been using a shit piece of optical mouse for the last few days and the response and feel aren’t the same :( :( It’s hard to describe, but once you go “gaming grade” laser for years it’s hard to revert back to what I may call the stone age optical era LOL. Damn so much hate.

You know how bad it is? I put rush delivery on my new mouse order. That’s how bad it is. I should get the mouse some time today.
