More Group Shots
January 28, 2010
So my bookcase finally arrives! [see picture below] Yes it’s overstuffed with books and such like some have already said, but that’s pretty much everything that I would want to stack on my bookcase. The next thing is… to decorate the walls, I realized I don’t have any pictures for it and so I started hunting through 2 years of archived photos. To my surprise, I don’t have many group photos of my friends! The decent ones that I have are dated and so long ago. So my goal during 2010 and perhaps on is to take pictures of YOU and friends so I can update my collection, cherish the memories, and decorate my room ^__^
I also wanted a quote on the wall and was thinking on the lines of this:
Sounds interesting?
Encouragement
January 21, 2010
Sometimes things just fall into place. It’s kinds like when you go to the mall looking for a certain item and find it within 15 minutes; wouldn’t that be nice if it ever happened. I’d still browse, but it’d be a small convenience. Unfortunately, my life has more curve balls than I expect. Like my current job status. Ugh. Maybe I’m not looking in the right locations. This situation doesn’t help me buy a house when I’m 25. What happened to my desire to do something big? Usually the rainy season is a great time for me because of all the snow and the constant lull as it puts me to sleep, but it’s restricting my photo opportunities and I also feel like there would be more job opportunities during the summer. I feel kinda like how I felt last January; restless.
On the bright side, I have finally settled on a bookcase that fits most of my criteria and will be receiving it in a few weeks. I can finally complete more of my room! I got some inspiration to keep studying for the GMATS partly due to my mom who recently passed her broker’s exam; it pointed out to me that age does not matter to advance your career. So hopefully these few things will keep me busy for a while.
Perhaps I should view my unemployment as an opportunity to focus more on my studies. It’s as if a graduate program fell into place unexpectedly. Perhaps a house will have to be put on hold, but will fall into place when the time is right.
2010 Has Finally Arrived!
January 1, 2010
As I sit in front of my computer on this Frosty January 1st, I’m recollecting everything that has happened in 2009. I can honestly say that I have been through some rough times, learned from them, and moved on to the more enjoyable moments in life. I have gained more appreciation, respect and confidence, in this year alone, than I have ever in my life so far. Words of advice to whomever would want to listen, unfortunately you learn best from your worst mistakes, so never consider yourself as a screw up, but someone who is still learning.
My resolutions will be different this year, and will make me a better person. I actually think it may be be a list of my flaws. By writing them out, hopefully I can come to acceptance or work on them as the new year progresses.
So to usher in the new year, here are some resolutions for 2010:
- Better investments. Sometimes I wish I would get lucky somewhere in the money market, but I think if I kept working with stocks I can progress further this year than last year. Hopefully work comes my way soon for more capital and that will help on my earnings.
- Photography. It’s been a couple of months since I really started pushing photography. I’ve seen some progress, but it needs a lot more work. Someday would like it to bloom into something I really can do as a side gig. I don’t think I’ll be spending much more on it, but there are a few more items I would like to complete my setup
- Commitment to friends. It’s such a hard thing to do. I hate playing favorites, but I will try my best to see all of you. Sometimes I wish it was like in 2008, but this is 2010 and things will be different.
Someone who doesn’t try so effing hard all the time. Nuff said.
See you 2009 you taught me a lot.
Facebook Suggestions
December 15, 2009
Remember a while back how I thought Facebook was becoming very creepy with its Amazon.com-like the “Suggestions” feature?
Well here’s a great rendition in how it’s changed for the worse:
I Love Sales
December 9, 2009
As much as I love a good deal, I think I’ve been spending way too much money NOT on myself. Lol. Why does everyone else have expensive tastes and gifts they want that never go on sale?
Yes. Those are my legs. Yes that’s a fat stack of boxes behind my feet. How much did I get these wonderful cleats for? $17 no tax, free shipping. THAT’S a deal. I’ve bought a couple other items for myself like this and it feels good to save
I hope you and everyone is having a wonderful December shopping season. Stay warm, Be safe on the roads, and NEVER buy at retail.
Who I’m Thankful For
November 29, 2009
With the holiday season beginning, I would like to wish you, your families, and friends the all the happiness and well-being one could receive. This post is a smidge late, yes, I know, but I’ve been super busy trying to take over the world, or just my life as of lately. I’ve also been trying to hang out with as many people as I can before they get too busy to see me so hang in there if you haven’t hung out with me lately, I haven’t forgotten about you ^_^ I need to start on holiday shopping as well @_@ I wouldn’t want it to creep up on me like it did last year…
Anyways, without further delay and in no particular order, here are the people who I am thankful for being in my life and having an impact on me:
Alex
I still remember the day we first met; you sat behind me in poli sci 1. I was awkward, but it was okay. Then APSU happend and things just went from there. You were there during the ups and downs, we had our separate ways, and shared much together and I have so much respect for you. I admire your honesty at times, and keeping me in check when needed; you are a true friend. Lets hope for the best for the future. Thank you for everything!
Jimmy & Diana
I actually don’t remember how we hit it off, but all I remember was we were friends right off the bat. Some how we started climbing together at City Beach and then the next thing you know, you’ve introduced me to many of your friends. From there we’ve grown closer from all of the LAN parties (which we still need to have another one soon) to the outdoor excursions. You guys are the few people I know who are super funny, but keep it real when it counts. Oh yes, and the masters of “that’s what she said”.
Dustin & Kathryn
I don’t know how grateful I am to know such two wonderful people. You guys are kind and welcoming to me. I was stuck in a rut at the beginning of this year and somehow we hit it off. You guys lifted me from what felt like a bad dream and I have grown so much because of you two. We’ve hung out many, shared so much, and gossiped about everything; you guys are the ones who I would turn to if things were going wrong.
Christina
Future business leader of America? Probably. Thanks for just simply being there to talk to. For understanding when it counts. For being a nerd
For inspiring me to be better, work harder, and think of a brilliant scheme to get rich. It’s always fun to hang out with you too.
Addi
As weird as it may sound, I see a lot of me in you (personality). You share with me things that make me feel like I’m not alone in the world and other times to accept things the way that they are. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts, emotions, and anguish (if it may be) and giving me feedback when I need it the most. I appreciate how much closer I’ve gotten to know you and how much you’ve taught me during our photo sessions. I am still learning so much and I am grateful that you are understanding as well!
Nick
Lastly but not the least, Nick. You’re the guy who’s always invited to everything. Haha. I keep up with all your twitter/fb feeds. Thanks for at least trying to help me find a job when I’m out of one. Thanks for giving me a view from the outside (non Asian view) and bringing a little bit more diversity into my life. I LOVE how you always keep it fresh and your stories are never the same. You make a conversation more dynamic and you are a great listener. I feel like this is just the beginning and I hope this is true. Thanks Nick!
Kathryn
New Things
November 18, 2009
I bought a camera. It comes in the mail this Thursday. I’m very excited. I bought a new lens and flash as well. I also bought a dresser too; it looks very nice. The dresser took 3 hours to assemble. I’ll be getting a new rug soon. Things are finally settling down in my room.
Asides from my diminutive sentence structure and excessive spending habits, I’m still working on decorating my room. Over the course of this year, I’ve accrewed approximately 15 photos (primarily landscape) that I’ll be framing onto my wall. I’m not quite exactly sure how I’ll make this look nice, but I’ll be stopping my Michael’s and perhaps Aaron Brothers for some picture framing ideas. Anyone know a good canvas print shop that’s cheap around here? Of course I’ll post up my latest and greatest once it’s up.
The Night Birds Have Arrived~
October 29, 2009
Yep yep. As a follow up of my post Wall Art, I finally got everything together and made it happen. I spent a good 45 minutes of grueling work, and managed to adhere this sucker on my wall (properly). Check out after the break for pictures :
Okay enough sidetracking… now onto my Halloween costume. Sigh.
Haven’t Met You Yet

It’s catchy. It’s sweet. I’m a big fan of Michael Bublé and this is his latest
